Yankee Block Cartoon

Copy, Technical Pen and White-out
9"x12"
Spent the last couple of days fiddling around with copies of my original drawing, tech pens and white-out and feel this is a good enough cartoon to transfer to a block of linoleum. The carving process always refines the actual print and I am already running color scheme ideas for the 2nd block through my head.
This view of VT Yankee is something I have wanted to make into a print for a very long time. Earlier this summer I went for a long drive down to the NH side of the Connecticut River and made a sketch of the power plant. It seemed odd to be walking along this beautiful VT river habitat with plenty of wildlife, but then bam. There is VT Yankee, a concrete cube plopped down in the middle of this pastoral setting. Seems like such a contradiction that most landscape artists would not even attempt.
The final 2-block edition is a ways off as it may take me some time to carve this into the linoleum, but the second color to go with the black key-block will be a nice radioactive green. Still may call the final product 'Tritium Leaks' but that could change.
