I am an interdisciplinary artist and printmaker, living in Vermont since 1994. Inspired by the natural landscape I use imagination and memory to look beyond realism to make a statement about the pastoral landscape tradition in the 21st century. It is cool to see the block itself instead of the print. Do you always use cherry wood for the blocks? Is a denser harder wood better or perhaps a softer more pliable wood?

Sometimes I use linoleum, but cherry is my favorite. It is just hard enough to hold the elements and does not split or run easily. I have tried a variety of wood besides cherry but it really is the best. P
