Self-Portrait

I very little time left yesterday in Barre
So I took my inked plate,
And a dozen Q-tips into the bathroom.
In less than five minutes
I had this strange little self-portrait
At first I hated it,
But after a little while
It started to grow on me.
There is something solid about it,
And just a little monumental.

I think your comment about monumentality is an insightful one. It apears like a fascist/communist worker image -- "the heroic worker."
if I have a critiique, it's that it relys on the idea of a self portrait but doesn't say a lot about YOU!
Do you ever work into monoprints with other media? I wonder what would happen if you were to build this image with paint or pastel?
