Walnut Ink and Brush

There is nothing more difficult than to attempt to paint the setting sun. Then to make matters worse I attempted to paint it in black and white, so to speak with this brown ink. All in all my effort is not half bad except the humidity made the ink dry very slowly and the bugs almost drove me mad...

This drawing is ready to be transferred to a block for carving. I really enjoyed the way the image simplified itself and I have worked on this off and on for about a month. I put it down for a few weeks and almost gave up on the image. I stared at it for a few hours while on vacation and it almost finished itself as I decided to just be bold.
