Walnut Ink
7"x10"

This sketch was started on the 15th and finished this Wednesday morning before my watercolor class. It was on of those steamy Vermont summer mornings with a thick haze to the air.

Walnut Ink and Brush
7" x 10.25"

There is nothing more difficult than to attempt to paint the setting sun. Then to make matters worse I attempted to paint it in black and white, so to speak with this brown ink. Walnut Ink

I used a Sumi brush and Walnut ink while on vacation and plan to make some more of these little paintings.

Brush with Walnut Ink

6"x9"

As I packed for vacation I almost brought my full set of watercolors but decided on pulling this old bottle of ink out of mothballs and am really enjoying working with the medium.

Copy, Sharpie and White-out
5"x8"

This drawing is ready to be transferred to a block for carving. I really enjoyed the way the image simplified itself and I have worked on this off and on for about a month. I put it down for a few weeks and almost gave up on the image. I stared at it for a few hours while on vacation and it almost finished itself as I decided to just be bold.

Monotype

This loose little print was a quick example I pulled for my students at Studio Place Arts in Barre.
