Plexiglas Drypoint

4"x6"

Pulled this proof as a demo for my students this morning. I plan to scratch it some more this weekend and pull one or two more proofs before i try something more complicated. I am thinking about creating four carborundum plates and printing a color version of this. I may also add a one-color plate behind the proof next week as another demonstration for my students.

Linoleum Blockprint
6"x4"
Finished carving this block and printed two proofs this weekend. Anyone who is on my x-mas card list gets a preview of this years card.
It is funny, sometimes as I am carving a block I feel unhappy with the design and will put a project away. I started carving this over the summer and did not bring it back out until last week. Now that it is printed I am happer with the effort and have a color design in my head for a 2-block print.

Two-Plate Monotype
5"x7"
Pulled a quick 2-plate demo for my students today and liked the results. Pulled two demo's last week but they were not something I wanted to share. You win some, you lose some...

The Tree

Drypoint

4"x3"

This is the third state for this little print and it is coming along nicely. The second state did not print well and was an experiment involving a second plate for color. Hopefully I will re-work the color plate and get it to work the way I have it envisioned.

Mordor

September 26th, 2010

Reduction print

4.25"x5.75"

I worked the wood grain on this block as a demonstration for my students and saw this strange little landscape in my mind. It reminded me of how I imagined Mordor as a child reading LOTR, as it felt like toxic mist rolling off of a barren landscape. The print is a little out of my comfort zone, but I really tried to listen to the block and use the wood grain to my advantage.
