I am an interdisciplinary artist and printmaker, living in Vermont since 1994. Inspired by the natural landscape I use imagination and memory to look beyond realism to make a statement about the pastoral landscape tradition in the 21st century. VT Yankee Print
July 26, 2013
2-plate block print
9"x12"
Pulled the key-block over this green color I printed the other day and created a small edition of 14 prints. With 10 proof prints in grey and the 14 I pulled today it is a decent run off of these two blocks. The print above is one of three without a green fade and the other 11 have a slightly dark green fade at the top of the image. In about ten days when we return from vacation I will hand-sew three of the prints with the fade into a hanging scroll.

Lake Monomonoc
July 20, 2013
Charcoal pencil on paper
3"x4.5"
Went out on the busy Lake Monomonoc in MA this weekend in a kayak to make a little sketch. I was having a decent time as I found a spot to wedge my kayak against the shore with this beautiful view in front of me. But it was busy with other water-craft and a speed boat went by close to the shore and caused a huge wave to splash up and into my kayak. My sketchbook got soaked and I was momentarily miffed at the gas-guzzling speed boaters. Managed to dry out my sketch book and it is in remarkable great shape. Can't complain really as I have made a few sketches over the past few weeks and with a vacation in Maine next week I should be able to make a bunch by the end of August.

Tritium Leaks
2-plate block print
9x12"
Pulled this proof of the VT Yankee plates the day before yesterday and am pleased with the result. I have to correct a handful of registration problems but it came out pretty well. After some corrections I plane to pull at least 15-20 for a small edition with a radioactive green color. Once the edition is done I plan to hand-sew three of them into a hanging scroll. It should be finished in a few weeks in time for my exhibit with my friend Sabrina Fadial at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT.
