I am an interdisciplinary artist and printmaker, living in Vermont since 1994. Inspired by the natural landscape I use imagination and memory to look beyond realism to make a statement about the pastoral landscape tradition in the 21st century. Collaborative Print IV

Monotype on Steel
4"x4"
This may be one of my favorites from the session at SPA. It was at the end of the evening and there was a stack of plant forms from early prints and I arranged them on this small plate. There was more ink left on them than I anticipated and the variety of marks within the leaves themselves was more interesting than expected.

Monotype on Steel
6"x6"
Another print made with Sabrina Fadial last week at Studio Place Arts in Barre. Most of the prints we made were monotypes made with plant forms, but this one utilized some gnarly twine with fabulous results.

Monotype prints
By Sabrina Fadial and Phillip Robertson
I was at Studio Place Arts last Thursday evening and made some collaborative prints with my friend Sabrina Fadial. We created 41 monotypes together and had a fabulous time. There will be an exhibit of the prints we have been making together next summer at Studio Place Arts in Barre.

Monotype Experiment II
November 14, 2013
Monotype on steel
4"x4"
This is the second of three decent prints I pulled on two 4"x4" pieces of steel with some hand-made printmaking paper. The paper is funky but the texture is nice and created some added impact on the print itself. A ghost was pulled but did not photograph well and was on some traditional proofing paper.

Monotype on steel
4"x4"
This was the first of two quick tests of the hand-made paper I have been making over the last few weeks for a printmaking project with a friend. Both prints were scraps from an early failure as I had not made paper in decades. For awhile now I have been filling a bag with scraps from etching paper and cardstock and finally decided to do something as I had accumulated about five pounds of end pieces and other scraps.
