I am an interdisciplinary artist and printmaker, living in Vermont since 1994. Inspired by the natural landscape I use imagination and memory to look beyond realism to make a statement about the pastoral landscape tradition in the 21st century. Buffalo Mountain (Final State and Proof)
September 8, 2015
3"x5"
2-plate Mounted Linoleum Block Print
This little print will be this years holiday card for family and friends. It is from a little sketch I did this spring of Buffalo Mountain in Hardwick, Vermont. This was pulled on my Line-O-Scribe letterpress sign machine with great efficiency. In two hours I pulled 112 prints with only three problem proofs at the start.
Camel's Hump (Final States I and II)

Linoleum Block Reduction Print
8.25"x11.75"
I am happy enough with the Camel's Hump reduction print. Pulling them on the press had several issues and one part of me prefers pulling them by hand on rice paper. But you do not get the nice embossing on the paper and it is quicker pulling the prints on a big press.
The trick is getting the paper the right dampness and the pressure just right so you get a good print but do not stretch the linoleum, which seems to be the problem I am having. In the end I did not get as many great prints as I wanted but the two different version above came out the way I envisioned it at the start.
